About Greenways

The Greenways throughout Waterloo were first identified in the South Bank and Waterloo Neighbourhood Plan. Inspired by this and with a means to implement the premise of the Greenways, WeAreWaterloo applied for and was successful in receiving Greener City Grant Funding from the Greater London Authority in 2018. This went on to fund greening, lighting and way-finding improvements to Cornwall Road, which is directly opposite Waterloo Road, which runs parallel to Waterloo Station.

In addition to this grant funded activity, WeAreWaterloo has also invested in various other instances of green infrastructure, workshops, maps, public art, lighting and way-finding in order to raise awareness of Waterloo’s network of clean air walking routes, making them more attractive and visible to pedestrians.
